I think  when Leslie Saeta started this 30 paintings in 30 days she encouraged us to write about how we are doing with this challenge. So, here goes…My attitude was horrible today…I mean horrible! When I commit to doing something I just have to do it…it gnaws at me day and night. I’m having a very difficult time with this.

This has not been easy for me…I have struggled through each painting…I am 2 days behind and because I am behind I am not able to post my painting on Leslie’s blog because each post closes after two days. I asked my husband if he could cut some 6×6 masonite pieces for me, so I could do some quick and easy paintings to catch up. He so kindly did that, and then I gessoed them myself and sanded and gessoed and sanded.  When I started painting on the boards the paint just soaked up and dried so fast, it seemed impossible to do anything with it. I ended up working on that little painting above until midnight. I could just not get it right.

So today I am determined to paint 2 paintings no matter what and unexpected  out of town company comes, which means that I have to put away all my mess and clean house and give up my goal and I could not believe my attitude about this. I had to repent!

What have I learned???  My flesh is still there…quite strong…and it needs to be crucified with Christ.

I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20

By the way the container that the flower is in is really gray…I’m having a hard time taking realistic photos. : )
