Day 24 ~ Collecting Wildflowers

bike312″ x 12″ oil on black canvas

I started this painting Friday, the 27th and now it’s Monday, the 30th, the last day of the 30 Paintings in 30 Days. Already the other artists are finishing up and making collages and I’m still trekking along.  This one was inspired by my bike and the wildflowers I collected to make one huge beautiful wildflower bouquet.

My weekend was full of family and friends. We had a great time… love spending time with my grandchildren. But now I’ve got a whole lot of catching up to do, not just in painting, but my garden, my broody hen laying on 14 eggs under my porch and more…much more…

I am trading one pf my paintings for another painting done by an artist and I will share that in another post. I’m really excited about trading or bartering, an idea that came about by a spinner who is trading me homespun for a painting. What a fabulous idea!

So, if anyone would like to trade or barter, just let me know. 🙂

Day 22 ~ Peaceful Lake Michigan

Lake Michigan16″ x  20″ oil on canvas

$250

I have lived near some of the most beautiful ocean beaches for the first 30 years of my life…I love the beach, but I was stunned at the beauty of Lake Michigan! It was absolutely gorgeous! On the day we were there, the sun was shining and the sky  was  glowing a beautiful azure blue…

I decided to get a larger canvas out today and my palette knife. So this painting is done entirely with lots of gobs of paint and a palette knife. For those of you who have ever textured a wall, that is what I felt like I was doing. But it was fun to move the thick paint around on the canvas.

My daughter came downstairs and said, “Mom, I just love this, it’s so peaceful…” I love that she loves it. Hence the name… 🙂

Price includes a contemporary illusion frame.

Day 20 ~ How Does Your Garden Grow?

The Gardener8″ x 10″ oil on canvas

I forgot all about this painting. I was working on it before I left on my road trip and figured I’d post it when I got back. How, crazy is that????

I am working on a much larger version of this, so this is kind of a preliminary painting. I thought it would be perfect for my theme of painting women, or girls, or whatever…

I kept wondering why I was so far behind, but this helps…and then I ask myself why I’m doing this to myself…anyone else feel that way?

Day 19 ~ En Liten Flicka

Flicka6″ x 6″ oil on gessoed panel

Inspired by my Swedish Heritage and my love for split rail fences. I thought the fence would be a great backdrop for a little Swedish girl in traditional dress and yes, this is actually my dress. The dress has flowers on it like the cap, but I just don’t have the time right now to add all the detail. 🙂

Day 18 ~ Road Side Stand Sunflowers

Farmer's Market Sunflowers4″ x 4″ oil on mini canvas

SOLD

My last mini in the series of trying to catch up… 😉  These sunflowers were all bunched up together in a big pot at a Road Side Stand in Holland, Michigan. There was actually a bee on one…maybe I should stick it in there…???

On to try and paint two more paintings today…

Day 15, 16, 17 ~ Mini Paintings

I’ve been working hard to catch up today. Just got 3 mini paintings done. They are so cute and come with a little stand…

Autumn Flowers

I found these tiny canvases at Hobby Lobby when I was on my trip. These will be perfect to sell at my Market on the Farm that I hope to get together the second week in October.

So here are my 3 catch up paintings for today…

Day 14 ~ Shoreline Stroll

shoreline stroll8″ x 8″ oil on gessoed panel

This was inspired by a photo taken on the shore of Lake Michigan this past week.  What a beautiful beach.  We had a wonderful trip, and now I need to catch up on my 30 Paintings in 30 Days. 🙂

I bought 4 mini canvases and 4 mini stands that I’m going to work on today. That will bring me up to Day 18 and then I still have 5 more to catch up. Wow!
