Two Giveaways :)

Rosemary, Lavender and Thyme

Friends, I’m really excited about this, and I want to share my joy with you. You know those wonderful dream come true stories that don’t happen very often in our lives?  Well, I just had one of those dreams really come true, and I still am not quite sure I’m totally awake.

I’ve dreamed of being an artist and having my paintings accepted in a gallery…a dream that I never really thought was reachable for me. Yesterday, I submitted seven of my paintings to a gallery!  YES!!! So, to celebrate I have two giveaways…

#1 – A 2014 calendar of my paintings. I’m really happy with the way this turned out and I think you will be too.

a million little ways ~ emily p. freeman

You were born to make art. You were made to live art. You might not see yourself as an artist, but you are—in so many unexpected ways. In what you create, whether poetry or pie, sculpture or sand castle, calligraphy or conversation. It’s time to uncover the shape of your soul, turn down the voice of the inner critic, and move into the world with the courage to be who you most deeply are. ~ emily p. freeman

I love this little video and I’m reading emily’s new book…

Pantone Painting ~ Autumn Bouquet

fall bouquet 311″ x 14″ oil on gessoed panel

There we go…I hope you can see all the colors in there. This is from the previous post Pantone Palettes . I had picked a wild autumn bouquet from from the  pastures and woods out here, and when I thought about what to paint I realized most of the colors were in the bouquet… I think the added color yellow for marigolds really brightens it up. 🙂

Pantone Palettes

I have been spending a lot of time lately getting a website set up and an Etsy shop and putting the finishing coats of varnish on my paintings to get them ready for the gallery. But today I  just happened to be looking at the pantone app that can make color palettes from your photos when I saw the 2013 Fall Pantone colors…

So I thought I would have some fun and mix up a palette of these colors…

And I also made one up on photoshop…

And now I’m going to use all these colors in a painting.  Something  for fall… You never know what will be the inspiration for a new painting.
