Day 3 ~ McClures Beach

I have wanted to paint this painting from an old photograph for years…

McClures Beach out on the California coast is known for its turbulent waves. Here is my mom, my younger brother to the right of her, and I am the taller girl to the left of her. I remember going to the beach often…playing in the waves and in the sand, collecting shells…so much fun! 🙂

My mom at 95 still enjoys swimming…she is amazing!!!

    1. You know, it was such a pleasure to paint. I don’t know if that is because it has been imprinted in my mind from long ago, or what.

      I think my mom will really enjoy having this memory painted. 🙂

    1. Thanks so much, Cindy. It is really an amazing photo taken back in the 50s by the mom of the other two children. She probably had no idea that the photo would turn out so nice. It was so fun to paint!
