You won’t believe what song came on my Pandora station while I was painting this time…It just blew me away…I’ll tell you later in the post, but first I want to share a wonderful memory of mine…
9″ x 12″ oil on canvas
We used to go up to Colorado every winter. I miss going so much. This is my sweet little Anna who is not so little now, and my son Jesse up on his dad’s shoulder. He’s not so little any more either. He will be 30 in a couple of days. My husband, who happens to be the best daddy in all the world, is wearing a Fair Isle sweater that my mother knit for him. That is why I took the photo, so I could send it to my mom. And it turned out to be such a gem. I love the way his hand is wrapped around Anna’s little head, and Jesse was so tired of walking in the snow. In fact, it may have been this day that both of them started crying because they were cold and tired of walking.
I have pictures of that too. 😉
So, as I was painting little Jesse on top of his dad’s shoulder I heard these lyrics…
You raise me up so I can stand on mountains
You raise me up to walk on stormy seas
I am strong when I am on Your shoulders
You raise me up to more than I can be
I love your painting and that song. It was meant to be!
