Celebrating Our First Snow ~ Giveaway

Rosemary, Lavender and Thyme

I love snow!!! I know it can be miserable for those who live with it all winter, but when you live in an area that becomes bleak and drab in the winter after all the leaves fall off the trees, you appreciate the beauty of that white glistening carpet of snow.  I tried to portray the joy of snow falling in my painting “Snow Jewels”…

New Project ~ Old World

Some of you know that I started knitting last year and have completed 7 and a half pairs of socks and a hooded sweater and scarves and a hat and now I’m working on a pair of fingerless Latvian mittens. For those of you who don’t know what a Latvian mitten is here’s a couple of pictures…

And what does this have to do with painting you may wonder? After falling in love with these Latvian mittens I did some research on the old Latvian traditional dress. Being inspired by all things lovely I decided to do a series of old world traditional costumes.

Here’s the beginning of my first painting …Three Women in France ~ Old World
